Hexagon shaped nuts are used to fasten a bolt or screw through a threaded hole. The shape makes them easy to tighten. These nuts contain a nylon collar that increases friction on the screw thread.
These are referred to as 'Type T', as they are thinner than usual.
Nylon Insert nuts are often referred to as Nyloc or Nylock nuts.
